Ganado Junior High Counselor

My name is Mykayla McFaddin, and I am the Junior High and High School counselor here at Ganado ISD. I have been teaching 6th-grade science/social studies with coaching here since 2023, and I have just transitioned into the counselor role as of 2025. My husband, Andy McFaddin, has also been teaching and coaching here since 2023, and we have fallen in love with the community. I am from Bay City, Texas, which is where I graduated high school and went right into long-term substitute teaching, secretarial work, and AVID tutoring. Upon getting my diploma, I obtained my Associate’s degree from WCJC, Bachelor’s degree from UHV, and am about to graduate from Lamar University with my Master’s degree (Go Cards!). I look forward to helping my students on a different level outside of the classroom and making a change from within! My goal is to help and support every single student’s growth academically, socially, and emotionally, whilst preparing them for life beyond high school, no matter what that looks like for them! Whether it be college, trade school, the workforce, or military, my priority is setting them up for success and helping them get on track wherever they need to be. I will celebrate their successes as my own and support them through the tumultuous journey of Junior High and High School. If you have any questions or need additional resources, please feel free to visit my counselor page or swing by my office!
